THE MAKING OF A MYKITA ACETATE FRAME: WYNONA offers a quick but instructive look at the production process at MYKITA HAUS. It is one of four short films illustrating the development process of the handcrafted glasses from this Berlin manufactory. In the analogue film, shot using 16mm, the model WYNONA is followed by a camera on its transformative journey from raw material to a finished product presented on a shop-shelf.

The film was directed by Zack Spiger, a film director and cinematographer living between Paris and New York. The soundtrack comes courtesy of Chilly Gonzales, a Canadian jazz pianist and long-time resident of MYKITA’s beloved Berlin.

The NO2 SUN collection is made from acetate, a material composed of cotton and coloured pigments. The frames all feature an innovative hinge technology, which makes the variety of classic and contemporary shapes possible. The glasses all present a distinctive character of their own, but what they do share are the certified precision lenses from the Carl Zeiss brand, ensuring protection from harmful rays and optimal visibility.
