All our frames come with a microfibre cleaning cloth for removing surface marks, as well as a hard eyewear case for safely storing your glasses when they are not being worn.
There are a few important things to keep in mind in order to ensure the longevity of your MYKITA eyewear and keep them in great condition:
Protect the frame and lenses from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight to prevent distortion and degradation.
Safely store your glasses in an eyewear case in a cool place, e.g. avoid leaving them in the car or near heat sources.
Avoid exposing your eyewear to moisture, especially sea water. This is particularly important to prevent damage to the hand-lacquered surface on your stainless steel frames.
Always rinse off sea water or chemicals promptly, using warm water, or preferably Zeiss Cleaning Solution if available.
Use a microfiber cloth to wipe down and dry your frames completely.
Use the provided cleaning cloth or a gentle, grease-removing lens cleaning cloth to wipe the stainless steel frames regularly. Avoid using concentrated detergents or cleaning under running water.
Over time, deposits may accumulate in small grooves that are difficult to remove with the cloth – visit your MYKITA shop or recommended retailer for a professional deep cleaning and frame adjustments when needed.
Please note that only opticians with the proper tools should ever handle your MYKITA stainless steel frames for adjustments. Find your nearest MYKITA Shop or retailer with our Shop Finder.
Use a cleaning cloth to wipe your acetate frames regularly. The acetate surface may lose some of its shine over time and can be professionally polished to restore the high-gloss finish. Please contact your nearest MYKITA Shop or selected retailer.
Avoid exposing acetate frames to temperatures above 40°C (104°F) or direct sunlight.
For daily cleaning, use the MYKITA cleaning cloth provided or a gentle microfibre cloth.
Warm water should remove most light stains or dirt. For stronger stains or makeup caught in the pores, use a fine brush with warm water and mild soap.
For persistent stains, an ultrasonic bath can be used if necessary. Avoid using solvents or alcohol-based cleaning agents as they can damage the MYLON® surface, silicone parts, and lenses.
Regular cleaning is essential to keep your MYKITA frames looking their best.
Each material has a slightly different cleaning method to achieve the safest and best results.
We recommend only rinsing with warm water if necessary, or preferably Zeiss Cleaning Solution if available.
Never use highly concentrated solvents to clean the frame, as this could corrode and damage the surface, the silicone and plastic parts, and the lenses.
All our frames come with a microfibre cleaning cloth for removing surface marks, as well as a hard eyewear case for safely storing your glasses when they are not being worn.
To keep your MYKITA lenses in the best condition, refrain from placing your frames with the lenses facing down on any surface. Lenses are sensitive to chemicals, so avoid cleaning them with soap or other detergents. Instead, we use only a specialist lens spray, such as our Zeiss Cleaning solution for MYKITA and gently wipe the lens with a microfibre cloth.
Take advantage of our complimentary MYCARE service, available at MYKITA Shops worldwide. This service ensures your MYKITA frame maintains its intended look, fit, and functionality.
Our in store aftercare service includes personalised frame readjustment for optimal comfort and vision, deep cleaning using an ultrasound bath to remove residues and stains, and frame refurbishment, which may involve replacing functional parts as needed.
As an additional option, we offer an acetate polishing treatment to restore shine to dulled frames.
Our mission at MYKITA is creating responsible design and top-quality eyewear.
The MYKITA Accessories line is manufactured by Diffuser Tokyo in Japan using finest leather, natural fibre, and advanced textile innovations. The durability of leather and natural fibre may be affected under some circumstances such as friction, water stain and perspiration. Please note that colour may transfer to light-coloured textiles should the object get wet.
Leather products may stain when moist or wet. Please dry in shade after wiping with soft cloth. Store products in a cool, dry, and ventilated space to maintain high quality condition.
Leather Case Care
The leather case has been designed for everyday use, and with simple care it will stay beautiful for years. Gently applying a quality leather cream on a regular basis nourishes the leather, helps maintain its texture and colour, and prevents the surface from drying out.
Can the Soft Case be Washed?
The soft case contains a cushioned interior and a metal spring mechanism that gives it shape. Because these internal components can be affected by water or agitation, hand-washing or machine-washing is not recommended. Instead, if the surface becomes marked, gently spot-clean with a dry cloth or lightly dampened cloth, and let it air dry completely before using it again.
Tech Suede Cord Care
The tech suede cord has been selected for its soft feel, resilience, and ease of maintenance. The surface resists light stains and water better than many other fabrics, and it keeps its shape well through everyday wear. If the cord gets soiled, simply wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth and allow it to dry naturally.
Silk Cord Care
The silk cord is made from 100% silk, a natural fibre that cannot be washed with water in the same way as everyday textiles. If it needs cleaning, take a soft cloth, dampen it slightly with water, wring it out thoroughly and gently rub away any marks. Once cleaned, let the silk dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area — direct heat or sun is best avoided to protect the delicate fibres.
Silk can be sensitive to snags from jewellery or rough surfaces, so be mindful when wearing it alongside metal or decorative fittings. When not in use, keep the cord in its bag to stop it from tangling or catching on other items.
