The iconic headquarters has moved into a new location along the Spree River with views to the Fernsehturm, a symbol of reunited Berlin.

Since its founding in 2003, MYKITA HAUS has always been more than a workspace – it is the heartbeat of the brand’s pioneering vision. In November 2024, MYKITA starts the next chapter in a sprawling 3,800-square-metre space along Köpenicker Straße, by the Spree River. The red brick building itself tells a story of resilience and reinvention. An echo of Berlin’s industrial heritage, it has stood as a site for dye works and factories since the mid-19th century. Now protected as a historic landmark, it has been reimagined as a modern hub for design innovation and manufacturing. MYKITA collaborated with Grüntuch Ernst Architekten, a renowned Berlin-based firm known for their thoughtful approach to integrating historical and contemporary elements, bringing their expertise to the transformation of the new MYKITA HAUS.

Within this space, over 110 skilled artisans meticulously craft each frame, showcasing the artistry and precision that continue to define MYKITA products. The HAUS is home to 240 individuals from 35 nationalities, working together as part of MYKITA’s global team of 350. From design and prototyping to interior architecture and visual identity, every aspect of the brand is developed and realised in-house – a truly holistic operation.

Founder Moritz Krueger describes the MYKITA HAUS as “our kitchen base, a place to refine our ingredients, cultivate our manufacturing intelligence, and gather for play and creative exchange. This new space is a continuation of our unconventional path and a manifestation of our future potential – here, we will realise our ambitions while staying connected to our essence and bold Berlin spirit.”

The move also reflects MYKITA’s longstanding belief in sustainable manufacturing, an approach formally recognised with the industry’s first ever SILMO CSR Award in 2023. By leveraging this optimised workspace, the Modern Manufactory continues to refine its integrated production model, emphasising local manufacturing and reducing environmental impact by integrating recycled materials and circular processes. From its new riverside location, the design house is more prepared than ever to meet growing global demand while upholding its “Handmade in Berlin” ethos.

As you walk through the space, you sense the unique energy of a team that values precision and creativity in equal measure. A view behind the scenes, reveals the human touch behind every frame — the meticulous steps of hand-finishing, the quiet hum of advanced machinery, and the shared sense of purpose in this bustling collective of unconventional minds.

This move is more than a relocation; it’s a reimagining of what MYKITA can achieve. The new MYKITA HAUS serves as a symbol of continuity and progress, holding true to the authentic essence of Berlin while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in eyewear design and manufacturing.
