Our metal frames are made from stainless steel consisting of 90% recycled content and 10% raw material to achieve the medical grade quality that our products demand. We source our so-called spring steel exclusively from Alleima, a progressive and purpose-driven company based in Sweden that has been scrap-based and recycling steel for over 100 years.
ACETATE RENEW
We use Acetate Renew for all our frames and parts made of acetate. MYKITA was the first in the eyewear industry to fully switch its acetate supply to the sustainable Eastman Acetate Renew. The premium quality of this innovative material made a complete pivot to a sustainable option possible without compromising the appearance or performance of our eyewear.
MYLON®
Our proprietary MYLON® is an award-winning material innovation pioneered by MYKITA. It is made from fine polyamide powder fused into solid objects using a 3D printing technology called selective laser sintering (SLS). We created an entirely new material category in eyewear with MYLON® and set the industry benchmark for frames made by additive manufacturing.
